SGI Opteron boxes to tip up soon

WE HAVE LONG heard rumors of SGI AMD-based products surfacing, but every time we did, the oft-mentioned, red-throated reliable sources told us that the project had been canceled.
It looks like said sources are wrong, according to a release by Interactive Supercomputing found on Linux Electrons, there is a version of the Star-P compiler coming out for SGI Opteron boxes.
